Statement of Faith
The Bible
We believe that the Bible is the fully inspired Word of God, without error in the original manuscripts, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and that it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
The Tri-Unity
We believe there is one living and true God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect, eternally existing in three equal persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having ever existed as the Son with the Father and the Holy Spirit.
Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a person; that He convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment, that He gives life to spiritually dead sinners, that He permanently indwells the church, and the body of each believer, that He seals, enlightens, instructs, and guides believers, and that He is the power for godly living, Christian service, and spiritual worship.
Man
We believe that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death (separation from God); and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature, are totally depraved and are sinners in thought, word, and deed.
Salvation
We believe that regeneration (salvation) is the gift of God, made possible through the shed blood and death of Jesus Christ on the cross for the sins of mankind and His victorious resurrection from the dead. We believe that those who, by faith, confess Jesus as Lord and believe in His bodily death for sin and His resurrection receive God’s gift of salvation. We believe that they are thereby kept by God’s power and are secure in Christ forever.
The Church
We believe in the universal church, a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head and all regenerated persons are members. We believe that the Church of Jesus Christ began at Pentecost when the Holy Spirit descended from Heaven and came to dwell in those who believed; that it is composed solely of believers having been called out from among the Jews and Gentiles to become the Body and Bride of the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that the church was commissioned by Jesus Christ to evangelize the world.
Ordinances of the Church
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances to the local church: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the triune God. We believe that the Lord’s Supper was instituted by Christ for the commemoration of His death. We believe these ordinances are to be observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality
We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female, distinctive in physical and nonphysical characteristics from conception. These two distinct, complementary genders reflect the image and nature of God. Therefore, the rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person and God’s design for them.
We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union.
We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity.
